Breakfast Protein Shake - The Recipe

So it's really very simple; purchase expensive pre-mixed protein shakes or simple add a few ingredients and blend it up at home.  I was shooting for 30 grams of protein after listening to an episode of the Nerdist podcast with the author of "4 Hour Body", Tim Ferris.

From "The World According to Eggface"

The recipe is simple, doesn't taste aweful and is suprisingly filling.  Here are the ingredients:
  • 1 Cup of Coffee (Chilled)
  • 4 Tablespoons of Vanilla Flavored Greek Yogurt
  • 4 Tablespoons of Chocolate Whey Protein Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of Coffee Creamer
    • Optional:
      • 1 Teaspoon of Wheat Germ
      • 1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
      • 1/2 of a Ripe Banana or 1/4 of a Cup Dried Banana
(The measurements used and the nutritional contents, will be covered later...)

I'll prepare a few of these shakes in the "Magic Bullet" blender mugs and place them in the refridgerator.  Blend them in the morning.  It's an easy way to get the jolt of caffeine from the coffee while packing in a few extra grams of protein early in the morning.
