Project: Cereal Box Record Dividers

2020/02/01: Sorting and organizing the Record collection is a cathartic and Sen like experience; best depicted in the Movie/Book High Fidelity ("I can tell you how I got from Deep Purple to Howlin' Wolf in just 25 moves"). The drawback is that the dividers are more expensive than expected and do not impact the process in a big way. In addition, waiting the 1-3 days for delivery is a wet blanket smothering the enthusiasm for the record reorganization.

Project Overview:
Craft some simple record dividers to organize on the cheap. Cereal Boxes are approximately the necessary size and readily. These will do in the short run until permanent dividers are made (a Future Project!)

Action Plan:
1. Cut the Front and Back Panels out, trimming the sides.
2. Cut a Tab into the front edge, about 1/2" deep. The Tab in this case was cut to about 3" to provide enough space for a Category Label.

3. Use a piece of Masking Tape to wrap the Tab. Trim off the excess Tape.
4. Write in a Category Label on each side of the Tab.

5. Organize the Records and insert the Record Dividers.
Results:
The temporary Record Dividers are passable, but certainly not long lasting. They have an amateur look that is not meant for display purposes. The Cereal Box Record Dividers are simple, inexpensive to make and certainly will be replaced with Dividers better suited for displaying a Record Collection.
